Getting back to real life after a 2-week vacation proved to be harder than I thought it would be. I decided I need to take a week off after vacation just to be at home and recuperate. It was so hard to get back to typing 32 hours a week. I did that for 3 weeks and now am off for another 3 weeks recuperating from shoulder surgery. I had a pretty good sized bur on my right shoulder which had been giving me trouble for several months. It has proved to be more painful post surgery than I thought it would be but improving each day. I thought I would be able to do more during my recovery before I go back to work, but I think the things I was going to do in the yard are going to have to wait.
For Mother's Day, we went to my parent's sacrament meeting where my mom and nearly 103-year-old grandma spoke in Sacrament meeting. My grandma was introduced as the "youth" speaker. They both did a great job.
We (Steve, Heather, her roommate Amy, Isaac, Bethany, and I) went to Meadow for Memorial Day to put flowers at Steve's parent's grave. We hadn't had a chance to see the headstone since his father's name had been added and decided to take this chance to do it. We also visited Cove Fort, Fort Deseret, and Topaz. The thought came to me at Cove Fort that Isaac's great-great-great grandfather, Ira Hinckley, who established the fort, most likely knew my great-great grandfather, George A. Smith, who would have passed through on his way to/from St. George. It was a fun 2 days.
